Blessing of the Mother (Calling to)

(Plate 3, Object 39: site C)
Dark mother
Dark mother
Passage of Kt’Helahhth1
Passage of the blood wind
Passage of the dark wind
Passage of the fire and the sound
I receive thy blessing
I steal from the future the luck of the self
I borrow from the soul to pay the luck later
I take what is mine-but-not-yet
I take
I am
I am
I am blessed
I am blessed
Mneg’ia, I receive
Your blessing
1. The word Kt’Helahhth, transliterated into English (from the interim word) becomes strangely reflective of both hard and soft, moist and raw (or chapped) it contains elements which call forth demons (helahh) in a birth-motion borne of the speaking of the word (as if to open a gate.) Much of what we have recovered from site C seems to indicate that the natives truly believed that properly conjugated forms of helat (helahh, ahela’, !hel-hel, a-ahelat, etc.) were capable of summoning certain variations of demons merely by being spoken aloud.
